AGENCY DESCRIPTION
De Paul Treatment Centers, Inc. is a non-profit agency with a mission to provide a continuum of care through treatment services bringing the experience, strength, and hope of recovery to chemically dependent youth and adults.
De Paul Treatment Centers, Inc. recognizes chemical dependency as a chronic, progressive, and potentially fatal disease. We believe that addiction to any particular mind or mood-altering drug places the addict at high risk to be addicted to all mind or mood-altering drugs. We, therefore, embrace the philosophy that recovering from addiction involves abstinence from all mind or mood-altering drugs. Recovery is seen as a life long process, with the foundation to be established during primary treatment. Given that the disease of addiction affects all areas of an individual's life, cognitive, emotional physical, and spiritual -- we believe that treatment must address these aspects to ensure a solid foundation for recovery.

Program Description
Youth Treatment Services offers both residential and day treatment for chemically dependent teens. Referrals come from DHS, other alcohol and drug agencies, public schools, detox centers, parents, and through self referrals.
Residential Treatment Program serves chemically dependent boys and girls ages 12 to 17. Treatment includes group individual and family therapy based on a 12-step model. It has been long recognized that the most effective treatment for chemically dependent individuals involves a "continuum of care".
During Primary Care, our goal is to lay the foundation for recovery. In this stage, the client learns about the disease of addiction and the basic tools necessary for recovery. This is a time of intense education and support for new behaviors with strength-based counseling which utilizes cognitive and behavioral approaches.
Supportive Care is designed to strengthen the client's program recovery established during Primary Care. Although the client's chemical dependency is continuing to be addressed, counseling also deals with other problems, which affect the individual's ability to remain drug-free.
During Sustaining Care, our goal is to reinforce the growth accomplished by each client during the first two stages of care and to assist him/her in maintaining a program of recovery. The client's involvement with our treatment services lessens here with increasing independence from our counseling staff and greater dependence on an external support system
