AGENCY DESCRIPTION
Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) is dedicated to guiding underserved youth to realize their full potential. Working with schools, families and partner community organizations, SEI provides support, guidance and opportunities to achieve personal and academic success. SEI brings hope to individual young people and enhances the quality of community life.
Founded: 1981
Self Enhancement, Inc. offers the following programs:

In-School
Services (academic mentoring and tutoring) in eleven Portland Public Schools
(Elementary: Boise-Eliot, Humboldt,

After-School
Programming at the Center for Self Enhancement and in the above schools.
·
Academic Summer
Program for six-weeks and multiple one-week basketball camps.
·
Family Resource
Services including counseling, Family Enhancement, Latino Community Outreach,
Ready-to-Rent programs, parenting classes, and other
family resource training.
·
Culturally specific,
community-based support services to high-risk African-American male and female
youth who are under the supervision of Multnomah County Department of Community
Justice or OYA.
